Starboard has upgraded the Race carbon from 2022 with the new Evolution 115 cm fuselage. The shape of the C300 carbon 800 cm2 front wing has also been adjusted. Due to the adjustments, the aerodynamics have been greatly improved. This makes the Starboard Race Carbon EVO foil completely out of date again.

The Starboard Race Carbon EVO foil is intended for competition surfers who want to wind foil upwind and downwind. The Race Carbon Evolution comes with the new 115 cm EVO fuselage where the mast goes further back in the fuselage (this positions the blades further forward) and the rear wing is trimable. This wind foil has a C300 carbon mast of 95 cm long. The mast is long enough to have enough distance between the bottom of the board and the wings, making the wings less likely to get out of the water. Ideal at sea or inland water with higher waves and for racing.

This high performance foil ensures that you can already wind foil around 7 knots. The 800 cm2 front wing ensures good stability and easy ‘take off’ in low wind. The front wing has an area of 800 cm2 and the back wing 255 cm2. This wind foil foils high to the wind and can almost withstand the wind and is therefore extremely suitable for coarse racing. Trimmable fuselage

With this fuselage you get 6 ‘spacers’ delivered to trim the angle of the rear wing. The recommended angle is -1.5 degrees or -2.0 degrees. Because the front wing is further forward than with the regular fuselage 115 cm, this fuselage gives much more lift.

-0.5° for wind speeds around 7 knots

Our findings about the Starboard Race Carbon EVO foil:

+ Our favorite for up and downwind racing with little wind!
+ Flying from about 5-6 knots
+ Very good construction
+ Can upgrade wind foil by purchasing loose parts
+ Suitable for experienced competition surfers and freeracers

– Quite expensive, but is worth every penny
– High end foil, not suitable for novice wind foilers
– Not suitable for lighter wind foils < (65 kg), GTR EVO is then better option
– Not suitable for foiling half-wind
