Severne Foil Glide 3 (model 2023) is an improved version of the Severne Foil Glide 2. This means that severne’s ultimate freeride/freerace foil sail is completely up to date again. Below are the changes on a ride;
Update Severne Foil Glide 3
The design of the successful Severne Foil Glide 2 has been further optimized. The downhaul tension has increased slightly. This makes the profile slightly more stable, which benefits the performance of this sail.
This sail is directly derived from the successful racing foil sail, the Severne HGO. Weight savings and stability are key aspects taken into account in the development of this sail. Preferably you sail this sail with an RDM mast. This sail is available in 3 sizes. The sail has 3 cambers for a stable profile.
For those who want to develop further, the purchase of a specific wind foil sail is very desirable. This sail ensures that with even less wind you can already foil and much more stable (read more natural posture) you can wind foil. This sail has the same weight as a light wavesail! This sail is intended for freeriding or free racing.
Lightweight & soft
Everything has been done to keep the Severne Foil Glide 3 as light as possible. The weight is similar to that of a wave sail! The sail has relatively little downhaul tension which makes the sail feel very soft. This makes it very easy to get into plané. The sail rotates (when using an RDM mast) extremely easily, similar to a sail without cambers.
Stable & short boom
By keeping the boom as short as possible with the 3 cams, an ultimate stable sail is created. The Severne Foil Glide 3 has little loose leach, which provides a lot of power in little wind. The cambers ensure that even with little wind the profile remains beautiful in the sail.
Severne Foil Glide 3, what size should you choose?
You have to have foiled with Severne Foil Glide 3 to experience how little sail you actually need to be able to wind foil. With this sail you can easily grab 2,0 m2 smaller than you are used to with normal windsurfing. We have the 7.0m2 available for testing. Our advice is to try out the various sizes first. You can easily request a test via this form .
